I have two vehicles in which I want to install a basic system in. And I'm talking real basic. CD player, and around four speakers. Maybe an amp, if need be. My ears are horrible, so throwing money at a system is a waste of time.
The problem is the dash. These cars are '76 and '77, and have shaft (no, not the Shaft) AM/FM radios. I don't want to cut the dash. The radios barely work, so the FM tuner CD changers are out, I'd imagine.
I'm thinking just to have a changer underneath a seat, and not have a radio tuner. I rarely, if ever listen to the radio. I've never dealt with changers, can they be used standalone?
Suggestions for the changer and speakers are welcome, too. Keep in mind I cannot tell the difference between most speakers, so even the low end would be fine.
