The UPS man delivered this today:

I've got a 11U baseball game to shoot tomorrow at 7 pm, so I'll be able to test the high ISO capabilities that everyone is touting.

I know, it's not a blower or new turbo system, but it's sex to me! Plus, I can take great pics of terts!

Yea, but a car can't do this:

My kids won't stay small long, and I'll have great shots of them that will last forever. Between hockey, football, and baseball, I will have some moments of their youth captured. I can also make a few dollars selling pics to other parents who either can't or won't buy camera gear.

Try spending $2360 on the body, $260 on the grip, and $1900 on the lens that I hang off the front of it!

That's $4,520 I pick up every time I shoot and that's not including the batteries ($16 a pop) and compact flash card.

Here's the lens I use for sports:

It all depends on what you are going to use the camera for. You can spend anywhere from $450 to $8,000 on a Nikon body. There is a saying "bodies come and go, but glass (meaning lenses) is forever."

What are you looking at doing, and what are you looking at spending?

I've had a D100, D200, D300 and now the D700. I'm done for a couple of years. The D700 is basically a professional camera. It has the sensor of the D3 series and is full frame.

The Nikon D90 is a nice camera that won't break the bank and will take very nice pics.
I've got a D40x that I have been toying with over the last year but need some help. Anyone skilled enough to want to teach me how to use it before I go spending money on a one-on-one lesson at the camera store? Willing to offset the trouble with some adult beverages or such.

What are you trying to shoot? It helps to give pointers if one know's your subject.
Where are the upskirt pics?
So how much for the D300 body? :D

This camera with grip is too large for those:147:

Sold already.

Sorry.

An Excellent+ body is going for about $1,000 in private sales. I sold mine to Adorama for $750 so I wouldn't have to deal with a person to person transaction or PayPal.

They are sending me a hard check.
