Who here doesn't love beer! I'm on the hunt for the ultimate beer, so I'm told. Does anyone here know where i can locate or buy some Trappist Beer?

Hall's grocery on the NW corner of Glade and 121. Best selection I've ever seen.
Technically, a Trappist beer is is one that has been brewed by Trappist Monks... and there are only 7 such breweries in the world.

Achel
Westvleteren
Orval
Rochefort
Chimay
Westmalle
La Trappe (Koningshoeven)

Chimay is not horribly uncommon... you can usually get some at any beer/liquor store that has a solid beer selection.

yes, but where could i get some? i went to beer advocate.com got a hold of some yahoo and said he had a 6pack left and would sell it to me for $100. A bit much. i know there's places to buy it here in the states but it's hard to find because the don't sell to third parties. if anyone knows that would be great

Dude, I know you can get Chimay at Central Market. Hell, the Majestic Liquor near me has Chimay Red, Chimay White and Chimay Blue... just gotta look around.

If you just want one, go to the Flying Saucer.
I'm looking the Westvleteren, Orval, or La Trappe.

Worth trying?

Good selection here. But the best I have found is at the Central Market at Coit and GWB in Plano. Best in all of Dallas IMO.
central market has a huge selection of hard to find beer, and you can mix and match 6 packs.

Goody Goody liquor has all kinds of beer I've never heard of as well.
Another good beer not too many people know about is La Fin du Monde. Don't think it's trappist though,

Goody Goody in Little Elm/Frisco has the best/most I've ever seen. Followed probably by Mr. G's in Plano and Central Market.
I got some Maredsous at GoodyGoody the other day and thought it was pretty tasty. Not brewed by real monks, but same style.

very well. i might try that. i thought it might be hard to get some real Trappist beer here.
Monks that brew beer.

Beer as religion.

It's Shangri-fuckin-la
