I just started going to the gym off and on for about 3 months, I had been taking it pretty easy though until two weeks ago after I was healed up from ny knee surgery! I have my mind set on loosing weight and getting in shape. I've been mostly lifting 3-5 times a week, but yesterday(Thursday) decided to go to just do cardio, on wednsday night I weighed my self at 266.5 (yes im a fatass)and by thursday afternoon after doing cardio and the steam room I weighed myself at 262.25, a loss of 4.25 pounds with in a day, it blew my freaking mind! Now I'm gunna start doing cardio 2-3 times a week with my regular 3-5 day of lifting.

A lot of that may be water weight. A gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs. (give or take). I lost 7lbs. one day doing a 4 1/2 hour, 105 degree, 100 mile bike ride. I was drinking all the water I could stand, but didn't keep up with what I was losing.

I'm pretty sure that's what it was also
for me it was 12 lbs. that was my first day as a groundman at a intermodal railyard
after doing cardio and the steam room

That's exactly what it is. It's physically impossible to burn that much adipose tissue in less than 24 hours, most of that was water weight and possibly even muscle tissue if you were in a big enough caloric deficit. It's great for motivation, but the loss is only temporary. As soon as you replenish your fluids and get glycogen back into your muscles the weight comes back.

No matter how bad we want to, there is really no legal way to lose bodyfat that fast.

I've seen a guy i compete against lose 22lbs in one day for a weigh in. Just crazy, and dagerous.

It's just water. I dont like losing more than 10lbs for a weigh in even for one day.

:p

I thought to mention that, but was too lazy to type it out. :D
once i did like 12 for a wrestling match in high school, i was pretty miserable. about 8 is all i really like to do anymore for bjj matches, but only because i can weigh in the day before.
Lose about 10 lbs per good workouts or long games of basketball, but I sweat alot!
14 lbs in a 24 hour period, back when I rowed lightweight
In the summer (98+degrees), doing a normal slow 10k (5mi) run I lose about 7 lbs of water..
I can burn over 3k calories a day though if I try and that's about 1 lb of pure fat.
When I hit 40 I had a colonoscopy.

There is a stuff they give you called "Movi-Prep" that is like a little chimney sweep going into your stomach and driving everything in your system out your ass.

You can literally eat chicken soup broth and in less than 5 minutes, you are pissing the same broth out of your ass. You could put it back in the can and you'd never be able to tell the difference.

I think I lost about 5-7 lbs that day.
Not sure, but my first day of working/stripping concrete forms after sitting on my ass in college for a year I drank a 3+ gallon cooler of water on a 90* day in the foothills of Denver, CO and never pissed an ounce of it out. Die, I thought I was going to...

I went to my physical when I turned 40 all thinking I was going to sing Moon River, yet since I have no family history of colon cancer the doc said to wait until I was 50.

Lucky bastard....

I've had 4 of them and I'm only 29. And after this last trip to the hospital it looks like I'll be having another one shortly. :(

I've lost a ton of water weight in order to make weight in a day...

But as far as tissue loss, I recently had my arm amputated, which I'm guessing weighed 4-6 lbs...
