Is a 6spd larger than a t3550? I would rather not have to do *much* cutting, but the t3550 will slide right in.

might I recomend sliding the LS1 in with the T56?

So now my biggest problem will be getting a bell housing to go from a gm fbody T56 to a 302.

Funny you are looking at this. I am really considering droping a LS1 turbo and its tranny in a 1980 or 1981 TA Turbo car. I figure there is more room in the ole engine compartment so it should fit decently. I just wonder how hard it would be to hook all the guages up and if the a/c would be compatible or could be made to be. 400 Hp and fuel injection would be sweet in one of them cars.

Thanks for that link.Looks like I would need 8750-06 to make that swap.

Guess I will start google'n what clutch to use.

no problem.. Any 26 spline input 10.5" clutch kit should work. I have been doing research to try to put a t56 behind my fox.

My buddy Joe (krazyhorse) has one in his coupe. Pretty simple swap with the right parts.
