I would have knocked the motherfucker out.
x2I think he deserves an award.
Some of you people are too quick to make assumptions. It was likely some snotty nosed entitled little heathen, that was making life hell for anyone within earshot of them. I say shit to people with 'those kids' all the fucking time. Face it. Lots of people are shitty parents and let their kids run all over them, and everyone else they encounter. You might allow your kid to call you a bitch (I've seen it first hand), but I'll be damned if I'm going to listen to that shit.
This is the precise reason I rarely step foot in a Wal Mart.
I'm going to have to agree on one part and respectfully disagree on the other. Totally agree that it is all too often that you see these bratty-assed little kids at Walmart or the grocery store....parents just letting them act a total fucking fool. However, disagree that it is ever appropriate for a perfect stranger to strike another persons child....regardless of how bad the kid is, that's straight grounds for getting your head busted wide open with a can of Bush's Beans. Certainly wouldn't disagree with hollering at them though....matter of fact, I've done that myself in the store before....walked past some mexican chick that was totally ignoring her kid that was screaming at the top of her lungs sitting in the basket....as I walked by I went WAAAAAAHHHH!!! right at them. The kid shut right the fuck up and the mom looked at me like I was insane....funny that she would think nothing of it coming from her kid's mouth, but I'm crazy for making such a ruckus.I think he deserves an award.

And our generation would also get an ass whoopin at school for getting out of line (I'm assuming you are in the same generation)....at my school the principal, asst. principal, coach...and we even had a science teacher that was a big ole black dude that carried around a rubber hose....he'd smack yo ass for getting ou of line.Nah, I think we're on the same page. I was being a bit sarcastic when I said he deserved an award.
I've said many things to unruly children, and even worse to the parents that allow it. In fact, I blame the parents more, because they allow this behavior. I doubt I'd ever hit some strangers child. But I can certainly see where the old man was coming from. Just another reason not to fuck with old people. He was probably at the end of his rope, because he's been dealing with situations like this for the last 61 years.
Now, I'll give you, that this person was a complete stranger. But I don't see where some of you people are coming off talking about killing if they laid a hand on your child. Now, beating the shit out of the child is one thing. A simple slap to the face is entirely different, at least in my opinion.
I used to get beat by all kinds of people. Same goes for people of my parent's generation. I knew that if I stepped out of line, even if my parents weren't around, that SOMEONE was going to knock me back in to my place. And you know what? It kept me from stepping out of line. Most of the time anways. Why is it so different these days? Why were some of my friends' parents never arrested for felonies? Why was this acceptable back then, but now it's an outrage where people actually state that they'd go to such drastic lengths as to kill someone? Here's an idea. Accept some personal responsibility, that your kid is a snot nosed annoying disrespectful little bastard, and that it's all your fault. If you have a well behaved child, you will NEVER find yourself in this situation.
EDIT: I think I just figured it out. The truth hurts. And it's easier to point figures at others than it is to suck it up and blame yourself.
