video causes crash immediately.

It seems no matter what source, when I start a video file, the PC crashes. This is a newer PC. Pentium 4, Huge HD, and Win 98SE. Any Tips/Ideas?

Thanks,
Scott.

what kind of crash? Is the pc just freezing up or getting a blue screen?

My first guess would be a bad driver. Try upgrading the video and audio drivers to the latest for each. Try using another video player to see if thats corrupt or not.

I am guessing it is your video and/or sound drivers also. Update those and you should be fine.

Ouch, thats gotta suck! I would reinstall your video card drivers as well. If that doesnt work, man, I guess you could try the MS Knowledge Base. You got a tricky on your hands :)
