Updated pics after 4 days tweaking further down

Drove to Conroe and traded the 66 Falcon for a different ford product. 2 Fords in a row, that's hard on a Chevy guy.

houston area?
Yeah it is north of Houston. About 20 miles south of Huntsville. I drove it this morning to a friends and we adjusted the carb, set the timing. Was hauling ass down the street and noticed Reg sticker was out. Hauled right back home. I was giving it hell glad I didn't get pulled over. Gotta get bigger rims and tires, I was breaking loose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
damn i have never even seen one of those. i didnt know they made capri's that old.
I was eying that car on CL a while back... didn't it have some fender damage? neat score

They were imported from Germany and sold by Mercury dealers. I think they started in 70 or 71. Tons of them in Australia. They came with 4cy and 2.8 v6's. Notice he left the 2.8 badges on. I guess that is per side LOL

Very minor on the corner. It will have new paint and such. We are thinking about Pro-Streeting it.
I'll trade my New Parker funnel web intake for a set of 4 lug wheels bigger than 13".
Very unusual was it originally a 2.3 car?
That's a cool find. How much does it weigh?

title says 2500lbs. I have been driving it today, it is crazy
Nice find. I always liked those. You could do something nice with that other than yellow and with mini-tubs. It reminds me of a B210.

Here is a fast Capri from back then. It starts around 2:40.

The older Capris are cool, but very rust prone. Looks like a blast to drive though.

"souped up!" LOL!!! That was a full on IMSA GTU capri! 650hp and one bad mofo.

There is a reason those cars are illegal in our race series....WAY too light to begin with!!!

Wouldn't mind having that one!!!
