They got screwed. Bcs sucks. They didn't want to match them up with Florida. They took two legitimate threats against their elite conferences and matched them up to take them out of the picture.

Are you saying that if TCU would have gotten Florida and could have beaten them that would have given them a shot at the National Title? If you have followed College Football since the BCS you know there is now way that would happen this year not with the #1 and #2 teams playing against each other. The winner is the National Champion.. Strength of schedule and both of them being in the top 3all season pretty much takes away a shocker this year..

I would have really liked to seen TCU and Florida in the sugar bowl, but I'm glad we are playing an undefeated BSU over a GA Tech or Iowa. Great season for the frogs, now just to finish it out with a decisive win!

There will always be speculation of who deserves what, but no matter what this year has done a lot for TCU's recruiting and recognition, and a BCS win will set them up for next season. I'll be in Glendale the 4th:cool:

BTW: I'm still really shocked cincy passed us in the BCS ranking despite both polls having TCU #3.

I'm proud of the Frogs, and glad they're not playing GA State, but shit, they played (and beat) Boise State in a bowl game last year.

Oh well. It was a great year anyway. Go Frogs!

Yea, it was a great year, but you got to feel like you are going away a little empty handed since you are playing Boise State again.

No. By letting TCU play Boise, they essentially saved their ass. If TCU beat Florida it would just be another argument for why the BCS sucks. The SEC was a little overrated and the big 12 was highly overrated this year.

That's awesome you're going to the game.

I'm thinking Cincy jumped TCU is because of Pitt being ranked, and TCU's last games were un-ranked. Even though Cincy damn near lost to Pitt. And yeah I was getting pissed everyone kept projecting TCU to play GA Tech in the Orange Bowl. Florida would have been a good matchup but I'm happy with Boise State.
Go Frogs

It was kind of a copout for the BCS, but really the matchup works. Boise travels well and they will do well in Glendale and I think TCU will travel pretty well to the Fiesta bowl. Plus you have the only other undefeated shootout besides the NC game. (its all about money still)

It just sucks that the "power conferences" will be able to argue that beating another non-aq team is weak and TCU hasn't proven themselves. If TCU wants a shot for the NC next year they will basically have to be on a 27 game winning streak...:grumble: Next season should be good since TCU is only losing a few starters, and we won't be starting out ranked 17:cool:

Got my plane tickets booked with a stop in vegas for a couple of days:beerchug:

Don't the individual bowl selection committees determine which team they pick? After the one team they're locked into, of course.
I thought I read that the Sugar and Fiesta picked the opponents who would play against Cinci and Boise, respectively.

Yeah, they try to create the best match up for tv ratings, attendance, $$$, etc. The bowl committees get to pick from the pool of teams based on BCS selection after the guaranteed spots and NC spots are filled. I think they even have some additional guidelines for match ups based on prior bowls, if teams play each other in the regular season, etc.

Agreed, so how did the "BCS" eff anyone over with the team selections? I would have loved to see TCU/Cinci, but either the Sugar picked Florida (b/c they were locked into Cinci) or the Fiesta picked TCU (b/c they were locked into Boise)?

I'm asking a question, b/c I'm not absolutely sure that why I posted is right. But, to say that the "BCS" picked XX team and screwed XX team isn't exactly correct, from what I understand.

Again, congrats to TCU. Hell of a season and they did everything they had to do. I just happen to not like them, and I'm trying to not let that cloud my judgement.

Even if UT would have lost, Cinci still jumped TCU in the final BCS standings, so to a Horned Frog fan, it's a moot point. The only game that's predetermined by the BCS is the title game...#1 vs. #2.

I hope my point/question makes sense...

Yes, but if Texas would have lost we may have gotten to play a different team depending on what they dropped to... I guess there is no way to know what woulda, shoulda or coulda happened but that's what I was hoping for. I don't think Cincy should have jumped, they freakin almost lost to Pittsburgh.

Yeah, TCU did get screwed. It would have been much better for them to play Cincy than the Smurf-turfs.

However, as long as Cincy loses then whoever wins the Fiesta will have all rights to finish the year #2. Finishing #2 would be a great "moral victory" for TCU for a great year.

I'll still be holding my half-hearted "Horney Frog" pennant next month.

You're correct. Each bowl game gets to select who they want, one team at a time. By the time it got back around to the Fiesta Bowl, the highest-ranked team was Cincy, followed by Boise St. It was written in the paper today that the officials chose Boise St. for several reasons, but mostly because last year the Cincy fans didn't travel well. Remember, it's all about $$$
