If you get it checked I wouldn't see a problem as long as you lock it up. However you always run the risk of your luggage getting lost...
What kind of gun are you talking about?
Facepalm.
Facepalm.
Why facepalm? Plenty of people travel with their firearms.

Then facepalm on me. I thought a firearm anywhere in an airport is automatic jail time.

We are 138!
I never leave with any but I always seem to come home with a suitcase or golf back full of them.

Just pack it with your checked baggage in a hard case. When you get to the airline counter tell them you have a firearm. They will send you to a TSA area where you will have to open your luggage and present the firearm. They will probably search the rest of your suitcase but I have had it go either way.

Then they will have you lock it, and a TSA sticker will be applied. Then they take it and you are done.

Things to remember, unload it. TSA allows ammo to be transported in clips but some airlines do not. You can bring up to 11 pounds of ammo in an approved ammo container. The box you buy it in is enough.

When you get to your destination, you will have to go to a specific TSA claim area. They don't put it on the carousel. At least DFW doesn't.

Cons. It takes time. It could still get stolen.

Pros. You can lock your luggage so handlers can't go through your stuff and ransack / steal it.

 Are you serious? Obviously you have never had someone put a gun right up to your neck (actually touching) and take your wallet, phone, keys, and money in the middle of the day at a public gas station.... And then tells you that if you call the cops, he will come to your house and kill you... after all, he knows where you live now cause he has your drivers license and keys... I have. And I do not feel right unarmed. Guess Im just a big ass pussy too.

I think he was being sarcastic... Check the armory Houston chl thread lol:wink:
The upside? Having your gat when you get to your destination.

The downside? Having to check the damn thing and hoping some baggage handler doesn't steal it.

good info. I wasnt sure if a firearm was allowed on a plane or not. I dont see the problem as long as it is checked in correctly.

Spurlock Racing?

lmao! That little pathetic fuck and his trailer park abortion-gone-bad girlfriend couldn't do shit. Dammit... why'd u have to remind me of that peice of shit? lol

It was some black dood at a gas station on Greenville Ave (The old, yet rich part). I just finished pumping gas, got in the truck, reset the odometer, and wtf... he just showed up at my window outta no where. Had the window down so he just leaned on it like we were friends and held the pistol to muh neck. handed him all my shit, and sat there in a truck with no keys (or I would have run his ass over when he walked off) and no phone to call the cops. :(
