SVT Focus question

My brother was driving his Focus this morning and all of sudden it beeped twice and then lost power and died. Nothing would come on. I was thinking his alternator was out the whole time I was on my way home to go tow him in. He calls me when I am driving out of the driveway and says it beeped twice again then he was able to start it. He didnt lock the car last night with the churper, and unlocked the car this morning with the key. Is this a security problem? Or does the whole time the car is running is the chip in the key being read? It was really strange. The car has no alternator gauge, so I cannot tell what its doing. We let it sit for 15 minutes and it started right back up with no problems. TIA.

Sounds like an ignition kill issue with the alarm to me. It has an aftermarket alarm?

No its the factory system and churper. My camaro has a factory alarm like that.
That is rather odd. can't say I have ever experienced that problem. I believe the alarm system is disabled once the key is in and the car is started. Bypassed if you will. The PATS system fuse is #61 i think. Which is second from the bottom on the left side.

There is a door lock fuse on the backside of that panel, but it reccomends dealer service for that one. Dont know what else it disables or alters.

Its is strange and now its fine. Something acted weird with the security system. I will check the fuse tomorrow and see if it is blown. Thanks for the info
what all keys does he have on his key chain? other keys with chips can interfere with the sensor and cause issues
check the small grounds that come off the neg battery terminal, they are notorious for causing random intermittant no start issues.
