Who knew Les Claypool wrote a novel? Stumbled blindly across it while looking for some cheap Hunter S Thompson at Half Price Books tonight. This should be interesting.

I was aware he had but couldn't have told you the title of the book before now.

Post back up when you're done; I'm interested in seeing if it's any good or if it's just too goddamn weird.
good stuff. ive seen you throw up references to primus and claypool-related topics throughout the years... he's definetely one of those special creatures here to remind us, not so much persuade us, to think beyond. so many "artists" from the era that almost everyone remembers him from died and died quickly because their message was unclear and their futures were just as. every fan of him and his early workings KNEW he was gonna be around for a while and definetely not solely based on his ability to work a bass like no other human being could... ive seen more of his shows than anyone else ive seen and its like the man just keeps getting better with age. we've yet to see his finest doings.

Primus sucks!

I'm not nearly as into his work as I used to be(!The Holy Mackeral!) but I knew if I didn't buy this book tonight I'd probably forget and never run across it again. I finished a Douglas Coupland novel tonight and am now a chapter in. He has a speedhead with a ridiculously clean garage and a kid with a wristrocket taking out street lamps so far. The prose is rudimentary, with some flashes of insparation so far, but I expect it to improve as he gets the plot rolling.

you're definetely on the right path with that one.
Yay, yet another book to add to the mile long 'To Read' list...
Just finished it up. Only about 200 pages. Brisk, short chapters kept it flowing fast, with a couple of interesting characters tripping out on a fishing trip. 3 decent twists, though I saw 2 of them coming from a mile away. Not bad at all for a first novel. Writing wasn't anything to get excited about, but I'd recommend it to anyone that is a fan of his music and isn't afraid to turn of the TV and read a book. I'm glad I read it.
