or rather, got the receipt that has to be signed, I will get the actual letter tomorrow.

Anyone ever gotten one of these? I've been racking my brains and I can't come up with a single reason for them to be sending such a letter...... Hell, i've been in san diego for the most part lately.... not in my hood getting into trouble...... :damnit:

So they just sent you a reciept to sign, with nothing else??? And then they are sending the letter tomorrow????
doesnt make any sense..
how bout to notify that a prior owned vehicle had been impounded? Car was never transferred to new owner?
There are a ton of possibilities, some bad and some good.
Divorce? j/k

Hope it's not too bad of news. But a certified letter from the cops can't be good.:confused2: I got nothing.
Could this possibly have anything to do with the punks messing shit up in the neighborhood? I know it's been a while, but it's just a thought...
they find your trailer?
does it not sound strange to any one else, that they had him sign for a certified letter today ,that is coming tomorrow??????

It's still listed as stolen. If the trailer is ever recovered, the insurance company will get notified, not Mike.

When they send certified mail receipt requested they send out a receipt, you sign it, and the postal carrier picks up the receipt and drops off the letter. A copy of the signed receipt goes back to the sender. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

I always send in that form notifying them of the sale, so hopefully none of that.

I did report the V1 as stolen to valentine 1, so if they found it and called valentine 1 they would have told them who it was registered to, and that it was stolen. I never bothered with a police report on it since I wasn't about to file it on my insurance.

What GE said.

If i'm not in jail later on i'll post an update :wall:

AND, if they really wanted me they would have me arrested, so it's probably something to do with me having to pay money for something to clear it away. Perhaps my daughter/wife ran a red light camera or something.

Oh ok, now i understand...it was one of those little orange forms the mailman leaves in your mailbox...
I was thinking they had someone come to your door, and had you sign for it then told you it would be coming tomorrow...my bad.
my money is on a red light camera ticket.
Those generally don't come certified mail. I've received them before, and it's just plain old standard mail.

oh, didnt know that.
Well what was it?
They were just making sure he would be home today.
Wonder if he will be able to log on from Lewis Derrick

To add to it, they come from the municipality. Not the police dept. At least, not in my experience. Due to the technicalities behind it, the police don't enforce them, or collect on them. From what I've read, this is because the ticket must be signed by an officer that was present at the time of the offense. Obviously that's never the case with a red light camera. Could be wrong, that's just what I've read/heard.

^^I was thinking the same thing.
