I might be trading for a car that has racing stripes on it. The paintjob and stripes are only a couple months old, so how can I safely remove the racing stripes without hurting the paintjob?>

If they are vinyl decals use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive and use some WD40 to remove the adhesive from the paint. Wsah afterwards and you are set.

Someone else suggested a 3M disc or something that you put on a buffer and remove them. Does anyone have info about this?

That disc is for removing the emblem adhesive. I have a frind who does vinyl imaging and watched him remove the type of shit you see on the ricer cars.

LOL, one more. Where can I rent a heat gun. I figure buying one is prolly too much since I'm only needing it for this one thing.

Those stripes will make the car MUCH faster... ;)

Basic heat gun is less than $30 at Home Depot. You might find a cheaper one at Harbor Freight.
