The arrow that is printed on the shaft goes toward the OP.which end goes to the pump and which end goes up? the way i have it now the end with the stop on it is going to the pump is this right or does it go the other way. TIA
You had it right - I just added to it. IIRC, not all rods have that tapered end.I stand corrected. That is right! Dam, I need to go back to bed.
The beveled end of the shaft makes it easier to mate the dist. up to the shaft.
no you two are saying too diffrent things, he is saying that the stop goes towards the oil pump and you are saying that the stop goes towards the distributor, so which one is it?You had it right - I just added to it. IIRC, not all rods have that tapered end.
It goes towards the dist., the clip keeps the shaft in place (most of the time) when the motor is flipped. If there is no clip, the pointed end goes towards the dist.no you two are saying too diffrent things, he is saying that the stop goes towards the oil pump and you are saying that the stop goes towards the distributor, so which one is it?
LOL, I thought you typed "UP" not "OP".It goes towards the dist., the clip keeps the shaft in place (most of the time) when the motor is flipped. If there is no clip, the pointed end goes towards the dist.
Sorry about the confusion.
