so what do you do? that whole HASVAT whatever was greek to me 
HAZMAT is short for Hazardous Materials. I'm part of a 24/7 emergency response team (ya know for odors and spills or whatever). There's a lot of highly toxic and/or unstable chemicals here at this plant. I also supervise the safety part of all the job sites and make sure procedures are followed. I issue work permits for projects that are considered hazardous jobs. And some other little things here and there.

Sounds fun... fuck night shifts though I hated working em the few months I did... ended up quiting

Seriously though, night shift does suck when you have a nice dinner, lay down on the couch and start to fall asleep then realize...oops, got to go to work.
Oh and then on my nights off.....up all night long. Gets really boring around 2am when only infomercials are on tv.
I used to work 6am till 230pm. Now that shift sucked. I hated having to go to bed at 9pm and wake up to an alarm.
Since going back (voluntarily I might add) on the night shift in Jan of 02 I have come to love it. If I want to go out to the mall or anything I just make sure to get to sleep by 8am and up around 3pm.

Damn Denny that sucks , I feel for ya though. Just the opposite happened for me recently. I worked 3rd shift for 8 years and now for the first time I am on days !! I got a decent promotion in a better managment position which puts me days 6am -2pm. woohooo. I'm still adjusting to being awake and outside during the day. Its a bitch on my eyes, I'm so not used to the sunlight. I was a damn vampire for 8 years I hope I never have to do that shit again. Hope ya get off that shift soon !

1. You spend less money or at least I did since I spent more time catching up on sleep from the day before of only getting 4 hours the night before.
2. You are going the opposite way in morning rush hour traffic.
