Very Impressive...I was going to post about my new 1RM best and then hitting 225 x 5 at the end of the workout for the first time ever...but yeah you just made me feel like a bitch.
Congrats.:147:

How old are you? I think we're about the same age, and have similar goals.I was in the weight room today and got 315 up 8 times on bench pretty easily, lets just say I haven't lifted that much since my football playing days. It feels great to be back in GOOD shape. I still have a goal of dunking a basketball 2 handed but for now the 315 for an easy 8 felt great.
5'11''---207lbs -----12% ish body fat.
I will try again on friday and see if the result is as good, and get a video up.
I know you're being facetious to a degree, but never feel bad about a personal achievement. Everyone starts somewhere. If it makes you feel better, I probably couldn't push 225 more than 1-2 times right now.Very Impressive...I was going to post about my new 1RM best and then hitting 225 x 5 at the end of the workout for the first time ever...but yeah you just made me feel like a bitch.

I know I'm stronger then I was in January but I still feel weak for my size.I know you're being facetious to a degree, but never feel bad about a personal achievement. Everyone starts somewhere. If it makes you feel better, I probably couldn't push 225 more than 1-2 times right now.
Yeah we just don't have the DB's available at the shop we are at right now, I keep saying we need to move to that though.Congrats to the OP and Nate.
Nate, it must have been the bench that I sold you!
A few years back my goal was to rep 365 on flat bench 12 times,
then I hit that goal and completely stopped flat benching and switched back to dumb bells.
I just feel flat bar bench is only for bragging rights to you and your buddies, but that's another subject in itself.
Either way, congrats on new personal bests, sure does make you feel good!
Good deal.Yeah we just don't have the DB's available at the shop we are at right now, I keep saying we need to move to that though.
And actually that was on our old bench I put it up, I do use that Yukon machine alot...LOVE seated rows and we did fix the butter fly portion as well.
I am 25 years old and yes the flat bench is alot about bragging, but aren't all max lifts? WE dont have anything higher than 100lb dbs so I try to do a few sets of burn outs on there as well. How old are you? I think we're about the same age, and have similar goals.
I agree, the only way I feel I get a good flat bench workout is doing negatives to fail with a trustworthy spotter.Congrats to the OP and Nate.

I am hitting 225 for 25-30 times so my guess is youre closer to 275-285. You may be a good low end weight pusher though. 225 is good at any number of reps.I haven't maxed in maybe 15 years....
But right now im doing 225 x 10 in 4 sets.
I'm thinking i could probabally do slightly over 300 a few times. I'd like to try but i workout at home and never have a spotter so i have been staying away from weight that can hurt you.
You know a guy who does something better than someone else?!315x8?
You're my hero.
I know a FW City Marshal that warms up with 315 though. I've seen him do 405x12.:hypnotized:
