New Kimber

Got a new Kimber. Probably not what you were expecting when you clicked on the thread, but I am pretty pumped about it.

Its an 8400 Classic chambered in .300 WSM

I got a leupold vx-3 scope today to put on it, but am waiting for the scope bases to arrive in the mail.

your right. i was totally expecting a 1911. nice rifle though.

Fantastic! Nice to see a nice bolt action. My dad wants a 270 WSM Winchester mdl 70 Featherweight.

Great firearms. The Kimbers and the model 70s feel great and are virtually the same rifle. Love the 3 position safety on them!

Kimber actually got their start with rifles, so I would expect the quality to be on par or better than the 1911s.

Absolutely, kimber got into pistols long after they began making rifles. The machining on all the parts is fantastic... and to bolt action is among the slickest I have ever felt. Its like sliding a stick of butter across a warm pan.

I have messed with a few of their .22 rifles and they were not the heavy barreled versions and they would still out shoot a fully modified 10/22 target gun. I would only assume the large caliber rifles are just as good.
