Dads out of his 5 bypass surgery and in ICU

I am a firm believer that prayer works. We took my dad to the hospital for a simple stint in an artery. He ended up having 2 arteries 100% blocked and 1 was 90% blocked. Don't even know how the hell he was walking and talking. He has 5 bypasses at once schedualed for 3pm tomorrow. keep he and mom in your prayers. Gonna be a long day tomorrow.

Hang in there.
Prayers sent we are walking the same road, my dad had a heart attack 3 weeks ago, they put on stint in. They also found 5 blockages as well. His lowest being 50%. Its a scary time, but it will all be ok. What hospital is he going to be having it done?

Will do. The guy doing this surgery is like in the top 4 or 5 guys in Dallas.
They worked for my dad....so here go some up to the big guy for you and your family! I will pray that he stays well and as tough as he was walking around with all that craziness inside him!!!

Good luck Dad!!

Thats good to know, my dad chose a guy that was in the top 3 in north texas. My dad is having his surgery at MCA in arlington. I know its scary, but it will save his life and let him live longer. Did he have a heart attack, or did he just have tingly arms or legs?

He had numb arms and hands, pains in his legs. Was always tired. He had what eh THOUGHT was acid reflux for a week. Doc said it was from his heart not acid reflux. I'll pray for your pops. you know since we age right along with our dads, we seem to forget they are getting older. Shit likes this make you realize that They are getting on up there. My tattoo artist loves the hell out of my dad, can't wait until my pops is out of ICU and Devo comes up here to see him. The nurses and docs will wonder just who the hell this old man in ICU is. Devo is like 6'5" 300lb pierced and tattoo'd giant. ROFL! As a matter of fact ALL my friends dig the old man. SO he will have alot of visitors between 23-45 coming to see him along with his age group of friends.

We are gathering parts to build him a ratrod/hotrod. Decided yesterday with my uncle to get it on the roll, give dad something to stay active on and work on. Keep your eyes out for a 30ish cab to something. Doesn't need to be perfect, just repairable. One of his friends is going to build the frame and stuff so we just need a cab.

My dad had these exact same symptoms except he actually had a small heart attack. His legs and arms went numb, then he got real bad heart burn. It only to the medics 30 seconds to tell thats what was going on. The rat rod sounds like alot of fun for him. My dad has a 67 camaro to work on once he gets past all the surgery and recovery. I know several guys that just had it done and feel great. He wont be down long. Its killing my dad to sit in a lawn chair while we roof.
Well I was a total wreck for 24 hours. We went from a simple deal and "if you lived closer you could go home" to a massive 5 bypass open heart surgery. Dad is hooked up to so much equiptment it is crazy, there are like 12 differetn IV bags. But he LOOKS so much better than before he went in. Skin color is awesome and just looks great. ICU for 2 days and then they say another 2 or 3 in the Hospital. Want to really thank Benny and Faye, His friend Tim (who has been thru 2-quad bypasses himself) for being up here for mom, they have all know each other as kids. Tim's knowledge and keeping us informed step by step what dad was going thru was great. I'll keep ya'll updated, tomorrow will probably have alot happening.

Thanks for the prayers.

Rob
Glad to hear he is doing better. Prayers sent for a speedy recovery. Get some rest man, I know how stressful this is.
