My friend gave me this engine and i dont know what the hell it is and he didnt know either. Just a gift. Well my ? is what the hell is it?? Is there any number on the block that would tell me what it is?? Or am i just gonna have to take it somewhere and them measure it or what. I think it would be a good project but id like to knw what im working with! TIA

ok my casting number was D7TE-A-2-B........out of that i got that it came out of a 1977 truck......but what SIZE is it is confusing me....anyone wanna help?

Its a small block ford? A 302 has an 8.2" deck height while a 351W has a 9.5" deck. The 351 intake is wider due to this. Is it a bare longblock? If so check for a number cast in the lifter valley.
