What do you expect when the landlord has to pay property taxes that are 5 times what they are in Dallas? Cooke county is something else, that is for sure.
You think an apartment in downtown Dallas is any cheaper? For my new studio in north downtown:
$1360 per month. WTF!? Luckily there are $5000.00 worth of discounts and move-in specials![]()
You could always go live farther south and save some cashFor my new studio in north downtown:

I took a flyer from one of the apartments down here. They wanted $1500 a month for 1200ish square feet I think. I don't remember the specifics, but as soon as I saw $1500, I threw the handout away. You think an apartment in downtown Dallas is any cheaper?
I might add that this is a 500 sqft studio apartment.I took a flyer from one of the apartments down here. They wanted $1500 a month for 1200ish square feet I think. I don't remember the specifics, but as soon as I saw $1500, I threw the handout away.
Then HELL no. That is crazy. I would never pay that kind of money for a bathroom sized apartment.I might add that this is a 500 sqft studio apartment.
Why not go outside of downtown a few neighborhoods.I might add that this is a 500 sqft studio apartment.
That makes entirely too much sense. Why not go outside of downtown a few neighborhoods.
Probably because he doesn't want to get shot in the face. Why not go outside of downtown a few neighborhoods.
out by wrigleyville and what not is pretty niceProbably because he doesn't want to get shot in the face.
I'm not suprised at all that this is a 500 sf apartment and the rent is that high. You should see the taxes we pay on our industrial buildings up there. For the money that the government gets they should be able to build a fucking utopian society where no one has to work. It is THAT bad.
Oh WAIT...they are trying to do that. lol
Work is downtown, school is downtown, wife does not have a car nor a driver's license, AND...Why not go outside of downtown a few neighborhoods.

So what's it like being able to sit on the shitter, watch TV and cook and omlette at the same time?Work is downtown, school is downtown, wife does not have a car nor a driver's license, AND...

Yes, Chicago is that bad. Crooked politicians, crooked tax system (10.5% sales, AND an income tax), and criminals beyond belief.
Well, the bathroom and kitchen are separate from the living/bed area (as well as completely separate from each other, lol) and It's actually the cheapest one we could find.So what's it like being able to sit on the shitter, watch TV and cook and omlette at the same time?
500 sf....?! fuck, my garage is bigger than that and my house payment is like $1300/mo.
Convenience isn't worth that much....period.
When I lived in Chicago in 1999, a two bedroom Apt cost us 1450.00.For my new studio in north downtown:

Yeah you're looking at over 2500 now for a two bedroom. The good thing is highrise condos costa bout the same as highrise apartments, so if you're looking to stay for a long time (I'm not), and have good credit (I don't) then there's no reason not to buy. When I lived in Chicago in 1999, a two bedroom Apt cost us 1450.00.
Move West and take the train. Elgin is a nice area.Work is downtown, school is downtown, wife does not have a car nor a driver's license, AND...
