1998 F-150
Owner: Duff Douglas
Location: Dallas, Texas

When Duff began his search for a new truck in late 1998, there were no black F150’s in north Texas. After looking far and wide, he settled on a 1998 Nascar Edition. The factory gave the limited trucks 3.73 gears and no power windows/locks for a lighter base. As soon as it pulled into the garage he was able to began his modding by removing the graphics, the awful black wheels, and anything that bore the Nascar logo. He soon added 18” wheels, a custom stereo and lowering kit.

Never satisfied, all of the above was replaced…More than once. Duff has been building trucks for 15 years and he is lost if not given the chance to tinker, change or design new things for his truck or for someone else's. His work on earlier projects has won him such honors as Best in Class at Super Chevy, and Super Fords & Sport Truck magazine mentions. With the ’98 he has taken home an outstanding 3 Best Interior, 3 Best Paint and 10 Best Truck and Class Awards from the Texas Fun Ford Weekends. Street Trucks Magazine has shot his flamed ride three times but, since he keeps changing things, they can’t seem to get an up to the minute feature on it. All of this exposure in less than four years and all right here in Texas.

Although he didn’t build this truck to be a show winner, his attention to detail makes it nearly impossible. Duff does all of the work to the F1-Nifty himself, from the supercharger to the four-corner custom air ride set up, to the heart stopping interior…Nothing has been left untouched. The only outside credit would be to his friends at Hardcore Customs for their trick paintwork and Preston's Upholstery for his covered seats.

Speed is what he really wants to get out of his truck but the 5,000+ pound wheelbase will continue to make it a losing battle. Being his daily driver, he appreciates the DVD player and leather seats too much to sacrifice the comfort for a shaved quarter mile time and well, that air ride is simply fun. However, he does look forward to seeing it break 12’s before moving on to his next project…and with Duff…That could easily be next week!

Wow..Nice write up David...:p

Soo glad Duff's truck looks nothing like that original Nascar thingy...He is always coming up with new ideas and innovations for it...just amazes me as to what he has created.

Congrats Duffy!
