Looks like i'll be a mustang owner again soon

A friend of ours is moving to Bosnia to become a missionary at the end of the month. She has a 1998 v6 auto mustang that she needs to unload before then. And the price is right.

Meanwhile, I have a daughter that wants a mustang.

So, this coming Saturday we're gonna go look at it, and will probably pick it up if its not a total piece of junk.

It's not a hot rod, but for a teenager it'll be the perfect car

Anyone aware of any particular issues or problems I should be aware of on these cars?

Maybe not the car, but the daughter. I would get it as long as it ran and was in descent shape. We all know first cars are going to get the crap kicked out of them from being the teenagers first car.
You need to buy the Tamer!!
LOL.... i'm already rebuilding a couple of pontiacs, I need something that is already running!

Shes a skinny redhead, blue eyes, music major. Probably not someone that the board would really like that much. But she is a great person. Gave my oldest daughter sax lessons.

Just throw your motor in it and your done. Then you can have fun while fixing up the other ones. I will buy it back from you when you when you finish one of the other ones....or sooner. : D
My sister's 2001 6 had a leaking exhaust problem at the header. I have heard that same thing from alot of the 6 cyl cars. My sister just tolerates it, but every time I hear that sound it drives me crazy.

I bet there is a TSB on it.

Noted. Thanks!
Mike, a lot of those model v6es have head gasket issues. I'd do a compression test before buying it. If I remember correctly, there was a recall.

Look behind of the front bumper and look in front of the rear bumper and you will find the problem right in the middle. :lmao:

Here is a TSB that may apply to that concern
