Laptop repair?

I have an Sony Vaio laptop, having some issues with the DC adapter connected to the MB... Anyone knows a good shop in Dallas I can take it to?

I have a friend that had the same issue with his Vaio...he was told something like $1,800 to replace the motherboard.
