Would lakewood lifter bars be any good for an 89 hatch stang?

In the process of putting them on my car this weekend. Depends on what you want to do with the car. Any suspension mods for the straight line will help. *lift bars
They work well but you should also replace your uppers when you do it . I think they suggest stock style for a street car . I suggest you replace the axle side bushing with a poly one also . They are easy , just ask stock85 .
k so they will work

I can tell you if the axle is out of the car, it's 100x easier. I put in the Lakewood boxed uppers.
Not the best suspension mod by any stretch. Will they work? it depends on what you have planned for them.

IF it were me, I'd be looking more for a regular upper and lower with poly bushings. Not a bolt on, bandaid type fix like a lakewood.
Please explain.........
They promote body seperation (from the tire) and it makes the car leave all jacked off. (much like a southside "lift" bar)

Regular control arms with poly bushings, good shocks and struts, and new springs will make most any car hook fine.
leave all jacked off
I've always been happy when leaving this way?!?!
thats the point is for em to force the axle into the ground though isnt it
The idea was a novel one, and sounds good in theory.

Then the supension unloads, and typically causes one tire to lift from the pavement(passenger rear) because the weight of the car was sent up instead of back. That tire will begin to spin and then your limited slip grabs. If you're on sticky tires, then you might make it, street tires will break lose every time.

it's a VERY old train of thought and doesn't work very well I might add. The idea is to get the weight back on the tires, not lift the weight off of the tires.

I can promise you this, there is not one car that runs in TTT5 that uses them. (Just as an example).

On my street car, I use regular Jegs control arms and a good setup. With no front suspension what-so-ever I have gone a 1.42 with the 5 speed and a 1.45 with the automatic.... on Drag radials.

Tonight that will change thuogh - I'd expect to see some 1.39's.
They SUCKED on my coupe!!!
Went with TRZ lowers and had much better success!!
