My wife and I really want to give a try to the iphone but for some reason people keep telling us about network issues, dropped calls and how slow the internet is. Could you please tell us pros and cons? people keeps telling her to get a curve 8330 instead.

Thanks

my iphone has been pretty good to me
I have still never dropped a call on my Iphone since I got it 2 months ago (3gs) and the internet is fine
I LOVE my Iphone and so does my wife BUT....... I had WAY better service with my Treo on Sprint... not sure if its the Iphone or the ATT service

That being said... the iphone is super addictive so I don't regret the change at all.
thanks for the replies guys. Can i install java or flash in it?
fuk iphone. im about to put mine back on the shelf
Iphone > all other phones
no issues at all
With the new processor, going in and out of diff apps is really quick and internet is great.

Only bad thing is that we still do not have mms on the unjailbroken phones.
Get it, you wont regret it.
When it works right, it's awesome...mine was fucked up, but Apple replaced it.

Haven't had a dropped call, internet really isn't that slow, java? idk, flash? no, not without jailbreaking
MMS upgrade is out on Sept 25th, internet is fine for a phone. The only complaint I have is the lack of battery life between charges, but I assume thats because I am on it so much since its helpful in so many ways with the apps. You will not regret it!!!

I agree with the battery not lasting but the phone is great.

ive had all the bad ass phones, treos, g1, blackberry, and the iphone kicks all there ass!!!
i love my iphone and so does my wife.

the cell service has gotten better lately. At&t recently switched the 3G from the 1900/2100mhz band to 850mhz which goes through buildings and walls better. My office used to be a dead zone in the middle now I get 5 bars on 3g.

They are transitioning to this frequency in all cities eventually, i think it just hit north Dallas about a week ago.

Also, MMS is coming on Sept 25th.

3G internet is pretty quick in North Dallas (plano, richardson area). The 3GS is definitely worth it for the extra speed when browsing, clicking in out of apps, etc.

The battery life is shorter compared to some other smart phones but I can make it through a day without having to charge it, which is all you really need. The battery will last much longer if you just turn down the screen brightness, I think most people leave it turned up really high. I leave my at about 20-25% brightness most of the time and turn it up only if I'm outside in the sun.

I've had an iPhone for a year and a half now and can't imagine using anything else. It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn great.

I like my iPhone a lot.

Haven't had many issues with dropped calls. Maybe 2 in the past 3 months I've had this phone, but when it happened i'm moving around so I think I hit my cheek against the End Call button.

I just did a speedtest on my 3G and it was 2.23download, so browsing the net and looking through youtube isn't bad at all.

Battery life for me isn't too bad. By the end of the night I'm almost dead, but I'm constantly on the phone playing games or something.
well it seems like there is more good reviews than bad. I think we'll go ahead and give it a try.

thank you all for your opinions.

We got him boys... good job.
I've had mine for a year, and didn't even plug it up to a computer to get any updates or the ability to download apps or anything until just last week. Before that, using the internet on it was awful. It would freeze up a lot, boot me out, run really, really slow, etc. After the update, it works much better.

As far as service, it's been fine. I don't think I've ever dropped a call.
