You gotta start somwhere, better than nothing at all. Keep it up and you will see gains/changes in time.
I could bench 65 in like 5th grade...
But what BJ said, you'll work your way up.
that is pretty weak. lol but it will come in time. you should notice pretty decent gains in the first few months since you're just starting. just keep drinking protein shakes and take a good multi.
haha i can do more if im going for power 3-4 reps per set.

Doing 30 of those bastards start to burn.
I hear Hulk blood works.
jesus, how much do you weigh?
jesus, how much do you weigh?

Remember i had shoulder surgery in june. I've never lifted weights in my life, and ive sat around and done jack shit for a year and a half due to my shoulder being jacked. I went from 155 to 180.

Now these are not my maxes. Id say i could do one set of 100 on bench and more on the others as well. I dont want to damage my fresh shoulder but build on it :).

Im also not just throwing the weight around. Im making sure my form is correct and getting the most out of every rep that i can.
I know how you feel. I went to the gym for the first time back in December. I really could not lift over ~115 on bench when I started. I felt really bad because most of the guys I was going to the gym with could max out around 350-400, but I kept with it. Before I went home on vacation in October I tried my max out and was able to do 315. I think you are doing it right by taking it easy after your surgery.
Start doing push ups. It'll help with technique and stamina.

Also, I prefer dumbell bench over barbell bench due to prior shoulder injury.
It takes time.

Eat
Lift
Sleep
Repeat

I thought I would never be able to do it and I went from barely being able to put up 135 2 times to repping 85 lbs dumb bells.
I hate to say it but most people are keyboard warriors that are fat and out of shape and the most lifting they do is a snickers bar, but still can bench 500 + lbs :wiggle:,and love to give other people horrible advice. Just keep lifting and the numbers will come, always increase intensity or weight and if you ever feel pain stop what you are doing and move on. Props for not being embarassed to post real numbers. Sorry for the random slam on peeps in here, because most of the people are pretty knowledgeable, but some of the studs around here are hilarious with the misinformation IMO.

Your information is nothing to write home about either. lol
LIFT HARD! So you can be really good at....lifting hard again the next day.
It's quality, not quantity.

I see so many dudes that rack a shit load of weight, and either bouce it off their chest, lower it 1/3 of the way down, or use their lower back like a mofo.

Props to you for hitting the weights. Watch your form and the weight will increase gradually.
Great job man its hard as hell to work out keep with it.. It pays off I benched 135 pound max in 9 grade and now Im at 405 just keep up with it..
Keep at it man, shoulder surgery is no joke. In fact, it's best to start out with low weight, high reps.
Try some pushups in your off time. I can't imagine you getting sore at that weight. Just keep pushing. Hell, I can remember a time that I dropped 95lbs on my chin a long time ago. At that weight, if you keep it up, it'll blow your mind how quick you'll get stronger. Seriously in a couple of months you'll double that weight. In HS I went from benching a 100 or so to 185 in just a couple of months, just from working out regularly.
Meh, you're waking your muscles up. I bet you'll be doing 120-135 in a couple of weeks or months at the most.
