Taken from todays FW Star-Telegram:
Police wound teen robbery suspect outside Fort Worth pharmacy
A 17-year-old robbery suspect reportedly pointed a gun at police early Friday after allegedly robbing a south Fort Worth pharmacy, but he was wounded by a shotgun blast, a police spokesman said.
An 18-year-old companion fled toward Interstate 20 from the CVS Pharmacy, 5012 Trail Lake Drive, but officers outran him, said Sgt. Chad Mahaffey, the spokesman.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m., police records show. The store is open 24 hours a day, according to the CVS website.
"There have been six pharmacy robberies in recent weeks and two of those armed robberies were committed at this specific pharmacy," Mahaffey said in a news release.
Robbery detectives will try to determine if the two teens now in custody are connected to other pharmacy robberies.
"The major case unit will conduct the follow-up investigation into the officer-involved shooting, as is customary with all officer-involved shootings," Mahaffey said.
