Should I trust it to be them?

We recently noticed more attempts to log in to your PayPal
account from a foreign IP address and we have reasons
to belive that your account was compromised by a third
party without your authorization.


If you recently accessed your account while traveling,
the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you.
However,if you are the account holder please verify that,
clicking on the link below,log in fill the form and then submit.
In this way we will verify your identity.

The log in attempt was made from:

IP address: 184.158.158.98
ISP host: 184.158.158.98


If you choose to ignore our request , your account will be suspended
until you will verify your identity.


We ask that you allow at least 72 hours for the case to be
investigated and we strongly recommend not to make any changes
to your account in that time.

If you received this notice and you are not the authorized account
holder, please be aware that it is in violation of PayPal policy
to represent yourself as another PayPal user. Such action may also
be in violation of local, national, and/or international law. PayPal
is committed to assist law enforcement with any inquires related to
attempts to misappropriate personal information with the intent to
commit fraud or theft. Information will be provided at the request of
law enforcement agencies to ensure that perpetrators are prosecuted to
the full extent of the law.

it look slegit, however.. I would not use the link in the email... check paypal.com and see if they have a phone number to check the validity of the message and go ahead and logon to paypal normally and do not follow the link provided.

there are a lot of paypal scams going around, if i was you i would wait the 72 hours and see if it gets suspended then if so it was legit reactivate it, if not you avoided a scam

Did they address you by NAME, in the heading of the e-mail? If not... it's certainly not PayPal... but if you check it out, don't use the link in the email.

and yes, they do email. I just got an email from them stating that the buyer of my most recent auction was a fraud and now I'm out $200 because of it. :(

ive gotten the same e-mail, i never responded and my account still works, dont do it!

I got a similar email a few months ago, and contacted PayPal. They wanted me to send the email to them and PayPal verified that it was someone trying to scam PayPal accounts.

That's some damn good english


PayPal provides a customer service phone number you can call. If this was a legit email, they'd provide the number for you to call instead of clicking the link. In any case, if the account gets suspended in 72 hours, I still wouldn't click the link, and I'd head to PayPal's website, click on the "Contact Us" link, then click on the customer service link under "Help By Phone"

that link its hot, they would of got me if they would of used a HTTPS unstead on the non secured http

I tried to ping and trace the ip and i didn't get anything back it just timed out
