My buddys 99 gt has 4:10 gears and has never had a problem with them they have never whined or any thing of that sort, but the other day they just started to make alot of noise . I was just currious if anyone had any sugestions or answers.

How long have they been in there? Have you checked the fluid?

Check the pinion nut. It may have come loose

He just bought the car in november and the gears where already in the car, we were planning on chang ing the fluid so i guess we will see when we take off the diff. cover if there is anything else wrong, we also thought that it might be the pinion bearing but i dont know thanks for the suggestions.
