Irving is looking for the same thing.Hey babe, she should contact some of the local larger corporations.. We used to do this exact thing at my last job for the city of Irving. She can probably get all the needed slots filled by one company.
There are plenty of companies in Irving to solicit. We had a particular school that was "adopted". In addition to the mentoring people also helped out leading up to school starting, assisting teachers in getting rooms ready, decorating, stuff like that. We even did a bunch of landscaping work for a school up in Lewisville a couple years ago. All you have to do is have the rep at the school call the company and get in touch with their volunteering coordinator.Irving is looking for the same thing.
Thank you, baby. That's a good idea.Hey babe, she should contact some of the local larger corporations.. We used to do this exact thing at my last job for the city of Irving. She can probably get all the needed slots filled by one company.
Someone who can positively influence a kids life. You have to be 18 or older and the kids are junior high age (12-15).What kind of person are they looking for and what age students need mentoring?
LMFAO! DeWayne, that is NOT the kind of help they need! Unfortunately, most of them already have that down to a science.Maybe I can help Jr. High students. When my old arthritic hands aren't hurting too badly, I use to roll a pretty tight doobie.:439:
What city/area is the school in? How long is each session?Someone who can positively influence a kids life. You have to be 18 or older and the kids are junior high age (12-15).
Ahem...What city/area is the school in? How long is each session?
Just curious.
Thanks,

I got this email from the social worker at the school I teach at so if any of you are SERIOUSLY interested, please pm me. It really can be one of the best things you ever do for a kid.
If you know of anyone that is interested in being a part of our mentoring program at ****, please have them contact me (via this email is great!) within the next week. I am planning to coordinate a mentor orientation/training meeting following Labor Day. The criteria to be a mentor is that they must pass a background check and be willing to meet with their assigned student once every other week (2x/mo) during school hours. The time will be based on the student's schedule, but the day is flexible pending the mentor's schedule. If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. My goal is to have 15 mentors this year, but I need your assistance! Thanks so much!
Yeah, I know the background check thing throws a lot of you out of there, but thought it was worth a shot.
TIA
