Ever been banned for being to smart?
I started up a membership over at a popular car audio forum. As you can imagine, since it was car audio, 99.94% of the members were... well let's just say unintelligent. Lot's of kids, and lots of guys that just love lots of bass. So there are these reps there, that are for some of the big names in sound deadening. All I did was ask a few intelligent questions about sound deadening, and when I got my answers I asked some follow up questions. Then when I got the answers to those questions, It became easy for me to point out that one of the cheaper sound deadeners, was actually completely equal to all of the most expensive ones. This is due to the fact that although the expensive ones do technically block a lot more sound, (as in almost all of it) it is outside the hearing range of a human being. And the cheapest sound deadener, did actually block sound all the way up to, and a little bit past the human hearing range.
Apparently the reps didn't like good sense and intelligence being applied to their fields lol. After I made my last post, the one that outlined the whole hearing range stuff, I come back and I'm banned.
"No reason" was the reason given on the vbulletin ban message. "Never to be lifted". I really counldn't care less, that forum isn't worth the pixels it's made out of. But I didn't act rudely, in any way, shape, or form. I was perfectly polite and didn't flame bait or troll or threadjack or anything like that. I only had a chance make a few posts, and a start a couple threads before I was banned. And all of them were questions except for my last post, which was presented with clear evidence with a chart showing the human hearing range, and then another chart that the one of the rep's website's provided showing the range of the sound blocking material and their competitors. This was of course to show their product's superiority, but it also proved my point. I didn't name off some cheap crap deadener as the one that was the best buy, to make my point valid I actually had to use one that was worth it's salt. But it was significantly cheaper than some of the big name ones. Funny how that works out, huh?
