Emissions Testing Procedures

Is your vehicle required to be emissions tested?

All Texas registered vehicles are required to receive an annual inspection. All inspections include a comprehensive safety inspection; however, some vehicles are required to have an emissions test in addition to the safety inspection.

Which vehicles are required to have the emissions test?

* Vehicles registered in designated counties. Designated counties include: Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Montgomery, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Travis, Williamson and El Paso counties.

* Gasoline powered vehicles. Diesel powered vehicles and motorcycles are exempt from emissions testing, but are still required to have the annual safety inspection.

* Vehicles 2 through 24 years old OR upon expiration of the two-year initial inspection sticker.

Hunt County.. no emissions, Lived there for 15 yrs and never done emissions.

But if you live in a non-emmissions county why dont you just get it registered there?
So I am curious "sorry for the hijack" but if our car is registered in Tarrant county can we get it inspected in another say non emission county?

Ok, I'm sorry, I'm confused as all get out.........your address and car are in a non-emissions county, yet you want to know where one is so you don't have to go through emissions?
Granbury is non emissions.
Granbury is a SHIT HOLE!!!
For all you emissions county guys AND GALS, simply call Escapees in Livingston. Join the club or take their mailing address business. Cost like 44.00 per year, and you get an address in that town. Transfer your address to it and go get an inspection. Go to escapees.com and read How to become a Texan. Beats the shit out of emissions testing.
