i need help, i have a nissan maxima that someone gave me. when you put the key in and turn it all the accesories and lights come on, but when you try to start it everything shuts off until you release the key.. help me out here

Check the eng ground and /or neg batt cable

So, it won't start? If not, sounds like the starter is pulling all the juice from the battery. My need to charge battery or the starter in a bind. (brushes, etc.)Good luck!!
