Drivers needed for the 24 hours of lemons

We're looking for a driver or two to race the 24 hours of lemons October 24 and 25. We've done both TX races and the New Orleans race where we killed the 2.3 so we're swapping the car over to a 302. The car is a 90 Mustang with good suspension and brakes. With the 302 it ought to be easily capable of finishing top five. We'll supply the car, tools, spares, tires and work on it if it breaks. You'll need to supply your helmet and suit and pay for your share of the gas at the race. Cost is in the $500 - $700 range per driver depending on the number of drivers.

Driver prerequisites? I'm nominally familiar w/ the Lemons rules, circa 2007. I'm talking about for your team? AX history, O/T and/or HPDE, experience, etc?

Seriously interested,
Darren

PS. I have some louvered fenders you may be interested in.....

You know the race is limited to cars that cost you less than $500, right? You're taunting the people's curse bringing a car like that out...

Their car is a total pile of shit, trust me.....
I'd rather drive a POS than sit and watch many other's. ;) That is, unless another team is picking up drivers.......{ahem....}

I'm not even a little worried about the curse.

Darren, Prerequisites are pretty much a good attitude and a desire to do it. Do you have any driving experience?

Email me and I'll send you my number.

Yeah, I've turned a corner or two. ;)

On the edit: Attitude: not a problem. Give me a wrench or a steering wheel. I'm happy with either in my hands and just as willing to learn how to use them better.
where's my helmet?

id be down, where is it at?

If that's you car in your sig I saw it in a two page spread in the AmericanWay magazine. It's the magazine that AA and American Eagle carry on the planes. I thought It was pretty cool. It was talking about the lemons race.

I guess I should have mentioned that. Houston.

really down , which track? when? and how much drive time?can i sell sponsor space for my share of cash? what does the $$$ pay for?
Yeah that article was written by someone at the last lemons race in Houston. I had heard it was in the latest issue of American Way. Anyone who's into cars needs to do this type of race, I don't know if it's possible to have as much fun in a car with your clothes on. Brian's car is a reliable contender too. Hell of a deal when you consider what it ends up costing to fully prep a car and then hope it stays together for at least half the time. Slow and steady cars have the most track time and fun at lemons....

It should still be steady but with a 302 it should be less slow.

MSR Houston near Angleton. October 24 and 25 for the race. There's a Friday practice that lasts most of the day. It's not included but is only $200 per team. Actual racing time if nothing breaks will be about 3 1/2 hours each. Sponsors - Maybe. The money pays for everything except your suit, helmet, and the gas you use on the track. I'll PM you my number.

I don't know yet. I was gonna just carry over the My Little Pony thing, but we're taking the car to Ohio for the lamest day and the guy who set it all up is doing a "Dodgeball" theme. It depends on how much time I have between the two races.
our team isn't making it as a team, but the e30 is still ready to race, and so are a few of our drivers... we placed 9th @ new orleans and 20th @ houston (first race)... and the drivers still racing are the better ones.. i'll let them know
FYI, if someone is up to race and doesn't have the gear, i have a full 2-layer suit, SFI shoes, 2 pr of SFI gloves, and a neck brace someone can buy/rent/borrow/whatever
