Everyone always talks about how they can't pass emissions without cats, but does anyone have the papers to show the difference? I'm sure some of them are gonna fail without cats, but my pickup actually burned cleaner without cats.

My 90LX passed emissions every time with no cats. I dont think it should be required to HAVE them if it will pass anyway.

If you have cats on your car, you should be able to pass with no problem. The limits on the emission levels are set to get cars off the road that do not run properly or are neglected. If your car runs good, and is not extremely modded, you should be able to pass without problems. The only problem is if the guy working that day is a dick and thinks your car is a little too loud, so he checks to see if you have cats.... That is what happened to me.

This was a 98 Dakota that I had that burned cleaner without 'em.
Maybe you had bad cats? I don't know how that is possible if they are working, lol.
