Dell Driver Issues

After 2 hours on the phone today with Dell, getting hung up on 6 times, and requesting an answer to a very basic question, Can I get Windows XP drivers for my Studio 1735 laptop? I learned that I bought a pile of junk, that vista has crapped out on me twice in the past 6 months, and I can't run windows XP because there aren't any drivers to support the system. If I ever run across michael dell I think I might just beat the shit out of him. If anyone has a solution to this or know where I can download the drivers, that would be great

I've found some dell drivers, but when I go to install them, it tells me that my system isn't a dell system and they wont install. If I could get the wireless NIC card going it would be a lot easier
Just download windows 7. such a big improvement.
have they released it yet? or is it in beta stage still
its been RTM. It hasn't been sold yet but its hitting stores soon.
I just found a source for it. Looks like I'll be getting it tomorrow. Have you worked with it? stress tests? opinions?

When I get my "legal" copy, I will be going to it. I have two netbooks running ultimate and I like it alot. I did a couple guys laptops at work with it (personal ones). Such a improvement.
thanks for the input. I use a lot of customized XP variants. So much more stable. That is what I was going to use, but this driver thing will be pushing me in the direction of 7.
7 is also light on the hardware.

I've got it on a Dell B130 laptop with a 1.5ghz Celeron M, 2gb ram, 60gb 5400rpm IDE, onboard Intel video and it runs very nice.
thanks guys. I got 7 loaded up this morning and it detected 95% of my hardware right away. 5 minutes doing some driver updates and its ready to go, the only feature that it doesn't have right now that I'm aware of is the on screen displays for the media buttons and such. No biggie. I will probably be giving Windows 7x64 a go on my desktop soon
