Is it normal to have a 20-30 degree difference in coolant temp between the front and the back of the intake?

What kind of car?

If it's a standard run of the mill 5.0 - Yes, it is very possible to do that.

yes. the rear dead heads.its not uncommon in my experience.
So with the front of the motor at 210 and the rear at 130 that is normal?
Isnt that a little cool for the motor to be running efficiently?

You said 20-30 not 80. So, which is it?

Yea its around a 80 degree difference. At the back of my intake i have a coolant sensor and its only reading 130 to 140 and this was before the cold weather came through.....
Are you reading the cooler temp on the factory guage and the hotter one from an aftermarket guage? My factory on at the rear is just over 130 and the aftermarket one on the front of the intake is reading 190-210 winter/summer.
80 is not normal
Hmmm....

If you are SURE you didn't screw it into an IAT sensor location (they screw right in... anyone can do it...DOH!) then its got to be a sensor issue. Try swapping the sensors from front to back and back to front and see if its a sensor issue. Best of luck.
