bigs and littles

thinking of getting some bigs and littles but i'm worried that the 3.5's up front are going to give me trouble for street use. I've seen alot of mustangs on the street with these on and just wondering if you guys ever have any trouble with the 3.5's up front for the street.

I daily drive mine for years with them. Now Is it the smartest thing to do?

Just dont drive like your in nascar. Put plenty of space in between you and other cars if you have to stop fast they will lock up. It is really easy to lock them up in the rain.

If i lived in a heavy populated metroplex i dont think id do it again on a daily, but just a weekend thing sure.
Im running prostars with nitto DR's out back. I always run big and littles with no problems at all.
Thx just wanted to know I wasn't the only one choosing looks over legality. Dude I was ordering them from was like "you sure you want to do that for a street driven car." "You know their not legal for street use?" Anyways thanks for the input.
\Thinking of going with the 15x8 out back on a fox coupe. You guys recommend the 4.5 or 5.5 backspace?
I had no problems until someone pulled out in front of me. I will be switching back to 10 holes for daily driving.
I ran bigs and littles on a truck. was an interesting ride. ran M/T street slicks, wold not do it as a daily thing but for ocassional driving its no problem

but it was a truck, I am sure the stang would handle differently.

Honestly I do not think any of my fox cars have had anything other then a weld drag lite. I am not afraid of them on the street. As for the back spacing I always ran 5.5. I think the 15x9 I think thats the deep dish one looks great. I had those on my old 93 coupe. As long as you run a good street tire and not a DR or slicks you should have no problems in the weather. At least I never did and I got in some heavy down pours and ice.
I daily drove with fats and skinnies on my old coupe... as mentioned its not really the smartest thing to do (shitty fox brakes plus a skinny:006:) but I only had one problem. I locked up the fronts trying to stop once, and it caused the tread to start separating on the tires about 500 miles later.
got 5.5's in the back of mine. 3.5 in the front, sux tryin to stop in a situtation. other than stoppin no worries
<----- bigs and littles here as well. I also don't run sway bars, so corner carving is never happening. Stopping simply requires putting a lot more distance in front of you. If you roll into the brakes, you can get to a hard stop. The main thing is getting the weight of the car on the front suspension before you apply hard brakes.

My biggest suggestion will be to spend for proper front runners. You will pay for what you get. Most other tires will not hold together for continuous speeds above 90 mph.

I've been running mine for a little over a year, with quite a few trips down the interstate to the DFW area (270 miles round trip) at continuous speeds averaging 110mph.

I will also express that this is not at all the smartest thing to do for a daily driver. Be careful!!
drove around for a while on them... no issues.. except everyone wants to race you... :(

Same thing for me when I had a fox, also ran draglites on my 2v for a while. Had to get to work one day with the draglites on during the winter and there was some ice on the road. Drove careful and no issues!
I have had skinnys on mine twice, once a few years ago and then they are on it now. I dont take sharp turns with any speed, leave some safety room between you and the car in front, and keep them aired up. I actualy like them in the rain, they dont hydro plain.

5.5 backspace on a 15x8.

I forgot to add that I drive 90miles a day 5 days a week.
I daily drive with 15x8 draglites out back and 15x4 draglites w/165 tires up front. No problems, except that you'll be slowing down a bit more when taking corners. I was even running it that way without the front sway bar, but I put it back on because it wasn't stable at all on hard corners in my car. Or at least I didn't like the feel of it.

Thats absolutely nuts to be doing continual hi-speed runs on skinnies! I would be so nervous i would have ulcers man, lol.
I have big and littles on my car and i dont have any problems driving it
