Baby Rabbits

I found a baby rabbit (like maybe 6" long) in the backyard, trying to elude one of my playful puppies. It's got dried mud on it but no blood anywhere, and it's still got plenty of energy and squeaks. I picked it up and took it out of the yard to maybe let its mother find it or it find its mother, and I found it, but it (the mother) took off. As I was walking back into the house, I found another baby just chilling out in the middle of the yard, unprotected/unhidden. I moved the one I found over with this one, but if (when?) the mother comes back, will it take it back, or is its only chance being raised as somebody's pet?

They'll be Ok. They don't make very good pets. They do, however, make excellent stew.

Once you're involved, the mom's done with them. They are really vulnerable at 6", and pretty much everything eats them (other than people). Try to give them shelter and water for a while, and they should be fine.
Real touching story. ***!

God bless
i was thinking you had found some new way to masturbate. i was kinda afraid to even open this thread.
They'll take off Tony. If by 6" you mean while sitting they're big enough. Stretched out limb to limb not so much.

<---Wife has rescued baby rabbits several times. They always take off at about that size...
Was there a rainbow and a unicorn in your yard too?
way to go, you fucked up by touch them. Sounds like you need to put them out of their misery. Get your baseball bat and take care of business.

Rabbit baseball?
Rabbit baseball?
of course, it would have to be better than bull frog baseball that we played at baseball camp

Are you sure? I don't think this is true. You hear this kind of stuff about all types of animals, but I think it's just urban legend for the most part. This exact same situation took place at my gf's parents' house. Her dad found 3 very small rabbits in the corner of his back yard. He moved them to the outside of the fence so the dog couldn't get them. Foolishly, he even put bread down for them because he was worried the mom had abandoned them. That's pretty intrusive, imo. Anyway, they started seeing the mom around shortly after, and then after a week or two they all left (or got eaten, who knows?).

Either way, I'd just tuck the bunnies in a safe spot and hope for the best.

Not to ruffle anyone's feathers but the thing about touching baby animals is generally bullshit.
I hate rabbits.

They were created by God for the times when the store runs out of Ramen noodles and hillbillies have to eat.

Awwww, shit! I was gonna post "Baby rabbits.... taste good!" but your post took the wind outta my sails.

Actually I got sick of rabbit while in the Marines. They served that shit almost twice a week at Camp LeJuene....
