So I get on the Dallas north tollway off of 380 and when I come up to the booth the damn toll went from 1.30 to 2.15!! Did all tollways go up or just this one?

I think all of them did. The tollway authority is going broke, they have got to raise rates. Even if they double them again it won't be enough money to keep them afloat in three years from what I have read in the DMN.
Glad there isn't any of that toll bullshit around here.

I'll pay 5 dollars a toll before I drive on 35 or 75. Fuck that shit.
I saw on the news that the 'fix' for the congestion in NRH by Rufe Snow on 820 is going to be a toll road!? WTF? There isn't any toll roads around so why and how are they going to put one in for just that section!?!?!
The state has squandered the motor fuel taxes on things other than road construction (I think it goes into the "general fund"), so now they are complaining that they don't have the money to build or fix roads, even though they are collecting plenty of money that is supposed to be earmarked for that purpose.

So, we get toll roads as an "easy" fix to the issue. You can thank governor perry for that. Easy for perry, but dammed hard for the rest of us that have little choice in what roads we must take to work every day.

And, like Al said, the tollway authority is spending money hand over fist installing landscaping, but they are going broke. Duh.

I look for the entire metroplex to eventually become one big toll road.
Yep, I noticed a couple weeks ago the tolls went up when I got on the tollway from 380

haha...I'm the complete opposite. I will not take a toll road unless by accident or an absolute must. I think it's stupid that I have to pay to drive on a road that I already paid for, and ill get ticketed if I drive on the dirt. Theres no choice in it for me.

And 75 isn't bad if you leave early/late enough.
plans are for 183, 820 and 635 to eventually be toll roads over the next 7 years they said on the news 2 nights ago.

you have got to be kidding me. I got a stack of old license plates and will get to running tolls if this is gonna be the case.
I saw on the news the other day that http://www.kinkyfriedman.com/ wants to get rid of all toll roads.

If true vote him in and hopefully he will try to get rid of them
I only take the toll road to go to rugby tuesday and thursday. Even then I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

If that is true, I'm leaving the area.
Yeah screw this place! Ill just start driving through stop light hell whenever I can if it comes to all that.
I take Bush from Firewheel to 35 twice a day, pisses me off, oh well I thought of a way to get out of them....
I just bought a car from out of state and I told the previous owner to let me know if he receives a bill for running tolls. I have run about 8 now in it as an experiment. If they don't send bills out of state. I will just register my car at a family memebers address thats out in Louisiana.
Fact is, if you don't like the tollroads and disagree with the system the best way you can protest is to not use the toll roads. The tollway authority will go broke and the government will have to actually figure out a way to spend highway funds on roads rather than spotted owls and illegal immigrants.

You can't blame this mess on the current person at the head of the state government.....the mess began long before Gov. Perry took office. I agree with most of your other points.

They didn't use to send them to out of state people. I'm wondering if they will do it now because of the horseshit "zip cash" system.

well we are about to find out. I will post up whether or not he has gotten a bill in a few weeks
