My buddy has an 06 525i with the 3.0. He wants some cheap HP with a programmer or dyno tune, but isn't having much luck.

there was a guy at northstar last saturday who's car seemed to be running well. Find him. It was an M5 though.

One thing you'll find out soon, cheap and BMW don't belong in the same sentence. For the most part all performance parts are going to be very expensive.
Power and anything that ends in '25i' don't go in the same sentence either.
Called Bavarian and got the answer I needed. Cold air, and over priced throttle body sounds like the limit.
pomade and a sweet mustache is all you need.
i am still kicking myself in the ass for not taking the 330ci i was looking at over the A4 i bought... but, who knows maybe i can finally be first at something and find a way to get an LSx in it... after this (second) motor craps out... (car's paid off now :birthday: )

You could use an LS4, a 6T75, and the AWD system out of a JY Equinox.
I have some 18"s off a 545i that you can buy. They are supposed to make '25s fast because they came off the '45 :D
Nitrous!! About a 2 fiddy shot should do. Make sure to drill out the n20 jet real good they are usually too small from the factory

beat me to it.
You will have to boost it if you want power from that 3.0. You can buy all the bolt ons available on the market and it will be still slower than dirt. But even after you boost that little 3.0 it will still get drug by a stock 545i....moral of the story sell it and buy a 535i (twin turbo 6) or 545i (v8)

that's was me in my buddies m5. It has the Dinan stroker, full Meisterscheif exhaust, dinan throttle bodies and so on.

Cheap and BMW do not belong anywhere in the same sentence. I have a 07 328i with the same motor and the cheapest "catback" I've found was $1200. The eisemann catback, which sounds damn good, will run you about $2k. Like stated before get a 135, 335, 535. They all have the twin turbo that you can some good power out of
He's not going to keep it much longer and knows he chose the wrong way to save a few bucks. He's just not going to spend much given the time left with it.

If he knows he is not going to keep it then tell him to not spend a dime on it!
