anyone know a lot about aerobic septic?

I have an aerobic system and the alarm on my aerator is going off. the air pump is doing nothing. not sure if this is because of a switch or relay kicking it off because of another problem or if the pumps bad. the distribution pump is working fine and I know its not the high water alarm. I tried using compressed air and pushing air into the tubing going to the tanks. it seems like its clogged almost. I can't get much to go through....any advice?

I've only gotten a few years out of each of my pumps. Don't you have a contract with someone to maintain it? Call them and have them check it for you.
I took the class to maintain it myself. I have the knowledge to replace the pump, just trying to verify thats the problem. I "think" it is but wanted to be sure before I drop 3-400 on it just in case. thats good to know about the life of the pumps. We've only been here a little over a year so I don't know this ones age

Maybe check the voltage coming into the pump? That would narrow it down real quick.

How much was the class? How much are the yearly fees if you are certified?
the way I understand it is the county you are in has the authority to allow the homeowner to do it. the class was like 250 but there are no other fees....once you are done you are done. I have a buddy electrician coming over to check all the voltages to verify. Looks like I'll be getting a new pump at this time.

the thing that gets me is when I put my air hose from my compressor into the airline going to the tank it doesn't flow free like i would "think" it should. I'm not sure what this means but it makes me think the tanks full....I"m not sure

There should be a few lbs of back pressure because the end of the air line goes into the water/solid waste. I'm not certain, but I believe that is how the alarm is set up. If it doesn't sense any pressure in the line, the pump alarm goes off.
post a picture of the compressor

I have a pos septic system like yours, they are a pia
septic.

Mine went out a couple of years ago. you can rebuid youself fo like a hundred bucks. That is what I did. Got my kit from septic solutions. There is a little plastic screw that breaks that stops the pump from working.

Suck on the hose to see if it will back flow.
