Anyone build counter tops?

I priced lowes and home depot and they want $450-500 to build a 3 foot wide 15 foot long (matte black)Formica counter top with a beveled edge. It would have to be built in 2 3 foot X 8 foot pieces because they don't sell Formica in lenghts longer than 12 foot.

so do you think you can find it cheaper than that?
For what it's worth, I used to work for a company that sold different types of countertops for laboratories. For Formica or WilsonArt, we bought from a company that charged us about $8/sq. ft + any special edge treatments. I expect our pricing was pretty good, so that would have been in the $400 range or so...
screw that, I would sooner granite-tile it
Make your own concrete countertops! If a couple degenerate gamblers like my roommate and I can do it, so can you!
I have a guy that does granite counter tops at reasonable prices and another that custom builds cabinets and counter tops etc.....

Got any details on how to do it? I can understand the basic jist of it but what material did you use to build the form out of, what type of concrete did you uese, etc...
