A good feeling

Well, I'm down almost 20lbs from where I was 2 months ago (eating better). I put on a bit of weight when I stopped smoking and doing other stuff about 2 years ago. I've been doing mostly cardio and very little resistance but lumps of muscle are showing up in places that I have never seen them. I've only been working out for about 3 weeks. I had no idea that you could build muscle this quickly without any chemical help. It's just to easy. I guess I just always assumed that it was difficult because there are so many people that swear that they can't. I think that they are full of shit.

Even the love handles that I have had since I was 14 are shrinking at an amazing rate. 3 weeks ago 3 sets of 20 crunches were torturous. Now 3 sets of 50 leave me thinking "was that all?". I feel so good when I leave the gym it is like I'm stoned or something. I'm hooked.

People that say they can't are just plain lazy.
It's amazing what just 1 hour workout a day 4-5 days a week will do for you.

Oh, and try crunches / situps with a medicine ball or 20-30 lbs dumbbell!!

I'm not so sure it's lazy as much is it is mental. People manage to convince themselves that they're just one of those people for whom diet and exercise won't work because they've never given either one a fair shot; most people don't actually adhere to the "diets" that they set for themselves and don't do nearly enough exercise when they're "working out."

Glad to hear that it's going well for you. Keep it up. After a year and a half of just doing cardio to lose weight/stay in shape I've finally added a decent lifting schedule to my regiment and it's kicking my ass. I feel great though!
