98 nissan doesn't start.??

Well the wifes cars the other day started this.....you can drive somewhere and go to leave and it will not start, doesnt turn over are anything....Waited a few hours and went to get it and the damn thing started right up....this is the 2nd time in 4 days it has done this and it doeant happen all the time...any ideas would be great..it is a 6 cyl 98 nissan maxima....automatic.

we tried to jump it of but that didn't work, plus the batt is less than a yr old, so i was thinking it would be something else, but it could be the batt or a connection....
Cables could have too much resistance and heat makes the resistance go up.
Check your grounds.

The one that will be giving you this issue would be the, From battery to chassis ground, start there.

If it was wt outside when this happened, and when it dried it up started. It is your grounds. My civic did this exact same thing.
or could be the starter also, next time it does it hit the starter with a hammer and see if it cranks then, youll have to use a long extension to get down there to it though
starting to lean towards the starter....after 3 or 4 hours it starts up..A friend at work said that it sounded like it was getting warm and the bendix were causing this..It hasnt rained so being wet is out.....thanks for the ideas...
