5.0 tranny ?

I have a 91 crown vic with a 5.0 motor. My tranny is bad and i need a new one . Does any one know the model tranny that came in the 91 vics ?? Also was wanting to know if the tranny from a 5.0 stang was inner changeable and if so what else would i need besides the tranny. If you could shed some lite on the situation i would appreciate it.

its an aod.

INTERCHANGEABLE WITH:
CROWN VICTORIA 92 Police, AOD (PKA model)
LINCOLN & TOWN CAR 91 A.T.
LINCOLN & TOWN CAR 92 A.T.; AOD (PKA model, kick down cable)

The Mustang AOD will bolt up but the tailshaft is shorter than the AOD's from the Crown Vic & Lincolns.

if you knew the difference you could have a spacer made or see if someone already makes the size spacer you need. i stuck a fox t-5 in an sn95 and i just had to use the steeda driveshaft spacer.

This doesn't sound like a good idea to me....but, to each his own.

they make them for the t-5 swaps and i had it behind a 500hp 393 stroker and it never gave me any probs or he could just have the driveshaft lengthened or just get the proper transmission.
