Pick ur 4 wheeler choice

Okay guys, Im finaly buying a fourwheeler this weekend.

Here is what ive chose.

Honda 400ex
Yamaha Raptor 660
Yamaha Banshee.

I have about 2500-3000 to spend.

Which one, and why.

ltz400

in that price range, best choice.

Depends on what your purpose is, I don't think there is anything as good as the 660 for trails. It has tons of low end torque and the rear end is a little more narrow than a 700 so it fly's through the tight spots a little easier as well.

Whatever you get, if your riding trails?? make sure it has reverse. I know the 660 does, the yzf450 does not.
KFX700. Automatic and reverse. Plenty of power too.
Given the quads you listed i would say raptor 660. Given the price range your looking at i would seriously consider the ltz 400 as it is a great trail bike and handles nice.

Anything you get you will have a blast on!
I chose banshee, because that is the true balls to the wall quad. But i have also ridden a 400ex and i loved it, it would be easier to fuel up with a 4 stroke then a 2 stroke, so i would have two have to choices on this one, banshee or 400ex.

I have never ridden a raptor but i have heard great things about them, some say they have too much power to go balls out and be comfortable, but then again they might be pussies.
i have a raptor 660 it was ok power wise before but when i had the head ported did full exhaust and put a cam in it now it screams it has more than that done but i can't lay all my cards on the table. i like it way more than the banshee i had but thats just me
all depends on what you will be using it for. The 400ex is a great trail bike, not so good at the dunes though. banshee's are only good for drag racing, they don't handle well. If you ride for any extended amount of time at once you will want a 4 stroke for sure. We went to the dunes with a group that had 2 banshees and they were always having to go back for fuel. reverse is overrated unless you are just that lazy/out of shape/ and lack riding skills.

I have personally spent alot of time on 400ex's 660 raptors and mine suzuki z-400. As stated before its all about what your going to do. 400ex and the 660 raptor are good trail bikes. banshee's are for the dunes and drag race for the most part, plus its a 2-smoke i mean stroke, but i will admit i have never rode one before.
I could not be any happier with my 05 suzuki ltz-400 its awesome on the trails and is powerful enough to haul me around qiuet well. im 6'1 250lbs I chose it because i thought it was the best all around bike.
my z-400 has a jet kit, intake, and full exhaust and will hang side to side with a bone stock 660 raptor.I personally dont like the way the raptors handle and i think cc to cc there not all that more powerful compared to the 400cc bikes.

power/speed: 1. 660 2. z-400 3. 400
remember 400ex does not have reverse(reverse is a must for me) and doesnt put out as much torque as the other from the lower compression because it is air cooled and the other are liqiud cooled.

I don't know why everybody that has never rode a banshee says they are only for the dunes and drag racing. I own a banshee but i was not about to vote for it because i have yet to be able to ride it and have never ridden one before buying mine. BUT just because it is a two stroke doesn't mean it's not good on trails. Far as i'm concerned the only problem i see with it on the trail is lack of reverse. I've been riding a blaster (two stroke) for the last year and will admit to having to yank around on the bike a time or two, lack of reverse hasn't been that big of a deal.

Having said that unless two strokes are your thing (like me) i still vote for an ltz 400 or a raptor 660 since that's what your asking about. I've had the pleasure of riding sneaky's z400 and it feels like a caddy on the trails.

Well i picked myself up a Banshee. A Guy on Craigslist was asking 1500 for it.

We went to look at it and it was pretty rough looking so i offered him 900.

Gonna tear it down and get it all powdercoated, put in a new topend, tires etc.

The a arms are bent on one side(tree) what the best alternative for replacement.

Ive been reading about banshees all day. Looks like I got myself a money pit.:yell:

I plan to replace the suspension, body, rims etc.

whats the benifit of 2+2 axle, a ams etc.
I kinda started tearing it down already to get ir powdercoated. I do have some ?'s though.

If you haven't found www.bansheehq.com go over there and search your ass off. There are a few good companies that make +2 +1 arms i wouldn't go any bigger than that if your going to ride it on trails. Personally i would find another stock arm to replace the bent one (hope the frame is not bent) and figure out how you like the ride, then go from there.
I been on that site all day looking around. The frame is fine. I just figure since im rebuilding it, might as well buy good stuff. Found a A-arm kit complete for about 340 shipped already powdercoated silvervein.

I have a small pile of cash for mods, since i only paid 900 for it.
