[ZX351]

After getting my new torque converter, I realize that the converter is for a 157 tooth flexplate. I have a 164 tooth.

Can I change to the 157 tooth using the same bellhousing and still have proper starter engagment? I don't want to buy a new flex if I will end up having to buy a new bellhousing too.

Any help from a knowledgeable person would be appreciated.

When I was buying my flexplate, I was told that the 157 tooth flexplate would not work with a 164 tooth bellhousing. I was just going to buy the smaller one because I didnt know which one I had. but they said it wouldnt work. It ended up that I have the small bellhousing but thats what lonestar told me.
