...ok, I have a bone stock 03 GT. I am thinking the car would sound pretty good with an off road x pipe and stock mufflers for now. Has anyone HERE ever done this and liked the way it sounded? Just wondering.

Thanks.

it will sound like shit and pop a lot. btw here's a good rule to follow. if you run chambered mufflers you want to run an h-pipe. if you run straight through mufflers run an x-pipe. this will yield the best sound. there are exceptions to the rule but not many.

Thank you for your opinion and advice.

Anybody else?

I have had an x-pipe on my car from day one with flows / mac flow path both running with and without tail pipes. I have never experienced the raspy poping sound I hear others talk about. Maybe my car is the exception, I don't know. One day I took my friends H-pipe and put it on the car (with flows and tail pipes) and it sounded like ass...

well flowmaters are one of the exceptions i was referring to. they sound good no matter which mid pipe and i have never heard the mac flow path set up. i still think the flow's sound better with an h though. i wont even mess with h's or x's anymore, i fell in love with the prochamber.

I liked my pro-chamber with my old 306 combo. Wouldnt mind strapping one to this thing but would like to know what it would sound like before dedicating to it. Remember, this is just a lil old 4.6 2V.:hypnotized:
i used to have a o/r h with mac prochambers on my 00gt and loved it now on my 03 cobra is o/r x with borla stingers its extremely loud but kinda raspy
I prefer an H. Mine had 40 series flows, off road H, and stock tailpipes. I don't like the raspy X
Bassani-X with borla mufflers.

Here you go, try this site. Has all the exhaust clips you will ever need.

wait till you get your cat back... no sense doing the work 2x. You tube has a ton of exhaust clips too, just punch in the combo you want to hear.

my buddy had a prochamber on his 2001 gt with flowmaster super 40's and it was one of the best sounding mod motors i have ever heard.

Thats the setup im wanting to go with. Dont really like the o/r X with the flows i have, and dont know if id like it if i got SLP's.
and your idea will sound like shit....

i have the following,
FLOWTECH L/T
OFF ROAD XPIPE
FLOWMASTERS 40 SERIES.....DUMPED

not loud at all:)
it really depends on what you want to live with but IMO an o/r x-pipe plus chambered mufflers sound good.

bassani x + 40 series flowmasters (no delta flow) = awesome 2v combo.
